Clear vision for everyone with EinDollarBrille
For most of us on the team, wearing the right glasses is second nature – many of us have worn them since school and couldn’t imagine working on a computer without them.
However, 950 million people worldwide cannot afford glasses. The consequences are serious: children cannot learn properly at school and adults miss out on career opportunities – the effects last a lifetime.
EinDollarBrille – almost a million pairs of glasses since 2012
We therefore wholeheartedly support the EinDollarBrille e.V. organisation, which provides people in developing and emerging countries with sturdy and affordable glasses, giving them access to education, work and a self-determined life.
Sustainable help on the ground
The glasses are manufactured and fitted on site by specially trained staff. This provides urgently needed visual aids and creates new jobs and better future prospects for local people. We are particularly impressed by this project’s sustainable approach: small, targeted measures achieve significant change.
Our commitment: School eye camps
We strengthen local structures, support the training of skilled workers and enable sustainable improvements. School eye camps are a particular focus of our commitment: in large-scale vision tests in schools, EinDollarBrille teams identify children and young people with vision problems, fitting them with individually tailored glasses directly on site and detecting eye diseases at an early stage.
